Jan 7, 2026 | 10:14 AM

The City of Medicine Hat announced on Wednesday that it has begun accepting applications for the Community Vibrancy Grant.

A single funding stream is available in 2026, listed as Community Project and Activities.

The application window is open until Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, at 3 p.m.

There were five grant recipients in 2025 for the Community Projects and Activities through the City.

The City of Medicine Hat stated in a news release that it recognizes the importance of community projects and activities.

The statement continued that they bring people together, support a vibrant quality of life, and reinforce the feeling of belonging in a community that is safe, welcoming, resilient, and rich with opportunity.

There is $55,000 in funding available, and applicants are encouraged to read the City’s grant funding guidelines and criteria to ensure their project and application meet the program objectives and eligibility criteria.

Those seeking to apply for the Annual Festivals and Special Events stream for larger-scale events will see those applications accepted in the summer of 2027 for festivals and events in 2028 and 2029.

Funding for 2026 and 2027 events was awarded in 2025.

Additional information on the Community Vibrancy Grant program and the application process is available on the City of Medicine Hat website.
