Dec 27, 2025 | 12:11 PM

The Medicine Hat Tigers begin the second half of the Western Hockey League season tonight in Lethbridge against the rival Hurricanes.

The Tabbies ended the first half of the season as the hottest team in the League, winning ten straight to close out the front half.

Beyond that, the Tigers have collected points in 20 of their last 22 games dating back to an October 19th regulation loss to the Vancouver Giants.

Medicine Hat will be without Finish defenseman Veeti Vaisanen, who is away representing is home country at the 2026 World Junior Hockey Championship in Minnesota.

For the ‘Canes, they ended the first half with a thrilling 3-2 come-from-behind overtime win against the Edmonton Oil Kings and will look to replicate that result against another top Eastern Conference contender tonight.

It has been more than a full calendar year since the Hurricanes have defeated the Tigers, with their last head-to-head win coming back on December 15th, 2024.

Lethbridge will be tasked with slowing down the red-hot stick of Tigers defenseman Bryce Pickford, who enters on a ten-game point streak with goals in every game this month.

Puck drop from inside the VisitLethbridge.com Arena is slated for 6:00 p.m MST with the pre-game show beginning at 5:45 on WILD 94.5 FM.
