Brooks RCMP were involved in a foot chase leading to arrest

Brooks RCMP have arrested a man wanted on outstanding warrants following a brief foot chase at about 11:20 a.m. on Dec. 15, 2025.

Police officers said they responded to a sighting of a man wanted in connection with an assault, as members of the Brooks RCMP general duty and general investigative sections conducted patrols in the area of 8th Avenue W. and 2 Street W.

RCMP identified the suspect as Chala Kedir, who attempted to evade police by moving in and out of local businesses.

Officers later located him and took him into custody after a short foot chase.
