FARM FAMILY OF THE YEAR

Nomination deadline is Friday for Cypress County’s Farm Family of Year

Dec 9, 2025 | 12:11 PM

Cypress County is taking nominations for the Farm Family of the Year until Friday, Dec. 12.

The BMO Farm Family Awards are given annually by the Calgary Stampede to recognize farm families in 18 different counties in southern Alberta who best typify the value of the family farmer to our rural communities and society in general.

These families are honoured during the Calgary Stampede at a banquet, and in past years, they have enjoyed complimentary rodeo tickets.

Cypress County also honours its winner with an award on stage during the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede.

Nominations for the award are submitted through an online form.

They are looking for a family within Cypress County deserving of recognition for both agriculture and community involvement.

The farm family must be active in primary agriculture, have agriculture as the main source of income and have members residing on the farm.

Cypress County’s agricultural service board will determine the winner based on the nominations.

Additional information is available on the Cypress County website.
