The Medicine Hat Tennis Club was represented by the Fentabil brothers at the ATC 3 STAR U14/U18 2025 Tournament, from Nov. 28-30 at the Alberta Tennis Centre in Calgary.

Thomas Fentabil won the U14 tournament championship over Smith Lewsaw, from the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, by scores of 6-3 and 6-2.

The semifinal match for Thomas, the No. 3 Seed, was close, as he defeated Wintson Wong, the No. 2 Seed.

Wong took the opening set 7-6, Fentabil won the second set 6-2, and the third set on a tie-break 20-18.

The match was three hours and 15 minutes, with each player saving many match points in the tiebreaker.

Winston Wong, who plays out of the Saville Community Sports Centre, had won the Medicine Hat Junior Tournament in August.

The win for Thomas is his fourth title in 2025 Tennis Alberta-sanctioned tournaments.

He won five matches on his way to the tournament victory, with 32 players competing.

Mike Fentabil lost both of his matches playing at the U18 level for the first time.

His first match against Jett Kiss from the Saville Community Sports Centre was 7-5, 3-6, 7-10.

Mike lost the consolation semifinal 4-8 against Gavin Cael Walker.

The Medicine Hat Tennis Club will be hosting another Alberta Junior Tennis Tournament in 2026.
