The Medicine Hat Public Library provides a wide variety of things to do beyond finding books to read.

Here are the top five things to do at the Medicine Hat Public Library in December 2025.

TIC TAC Presents: Carnival Night, Dec. 5, 6:45 p.m., Ages 13-19

Rescheduled from Nov. 21, Carnival Night will have classic carnival games like ring toss and rubber duck fishing, along with some favourite teen crafts like bracelet- and button-making. Earn tokens throughout the evening to redeem for prizes. Doors open 6:45-7:15 only, then locked for your safety.

Santa Has Lost it! Scavenger Hunt, Dec. 13-21, All Day, Ages 0-12

Santa has lost all the things he needs for Christmas! Can you help him find them? Each picture you find has a special letter. Collect all the letters to spell out a message for Santa.

Ticket to Ride Tournament, Dec. 13, 12 p.m., Ages 12 and up

In partnership with Steven Durk (@mhboardgameguy), Station Coffee Co., and the Redcliff Pharmasave, the Medicine Hat Public Library is pleased to host another Ticket to Ride Tournament. Do you think you’re a skilled enough conductor to take home the trophy and grand prize? Participants must be 12 or older. Register at mhpl.info/register.

Drop-In Holiday Paper Mosaics, Dec. 13, 1-4 p.m.

Stop by and create a work of art using cut paper. Mosaics are a picture, or pattern, that’s created by arranging small pieces of coloured material. Pick from a few holiday-inspired designs or create your own.

Noon Year’s Eve Baby Rave, Dec. 31, 11 a.m., Ages 0-5

Ring in the “Noon Year” with your little one at a tot-friendly dance party! Boogie to your favourite techno-style nursery rhymes and enjoy bubbles, lights, and all that glows! For children ages 0-5 with a parent or other adult caregiver.
