Bow Island and other areas in Alberta set a new temperature record

A weather summary issued by Environment Canada at 1:22 a.m. on Nov. 14 said several areas in Alberta set daily maximum temperature records on Nov. 13.
The areas with new records include:
- Bow Island area: 20.2°C, breaking the 2001 record of 19.7°C. Records have been kept since 1961.
- Cardston area: 18.6°C, breaking the 1990 record of 18.5°C. Records have been kept since 1918.
- Claresholm area: 20.0°C, breaking the 1990 record of 17.0°C. Records have been kept since 1951.
- Coronation area: 17.3°C, breaking the 1990 record of 15.6°C. Records have been kept since 1912.
- Crowsnest area: 14.8°C, breaking the 1990 record of 13.0°C. Records have been kept since 1965.
- Drumheller area: 19.1°C, breaking the 2023 record of 17.1°C. Records have been kept since 1923.
- Onefour area: 19.8°C, breaking the 1933 record of 17.2°C. Records have been kept since 1928.
- Red Deer area: 16.8°C, breaking the 1946 record of 15.0°C. Records have been kept since 1904.
Environment Canada said the records are based on data from historical stations active during each area’s period of record.
