REMEMBRANCE DAY

Esplanade in Medicine Hat will host its annual Remembrance Day service

Nov 10, 2025 | 3:36 PM

The annual Remembrance Day service at the Esplanade in Medicine Hat will be open to the public to attend.

Events taking place on Remembrance Day include:

  • 8:30 a.m. Esplanade doors open
  • 9:00 a.m. Theatre doors open
  • 9:25 a.m. Ceremony begins in the theatre
  • 10:30 a.m. Remembrance Day parade to Riverside Veterans Memorial Park
  • 11 a.m. Ceremony at the Cenotaph

Seating takes place when the doors open, to the start of the event.

Once the doors to the theatre close, attendees not in the theatre must watch from the Esplanades’ main lobby.

Wreath laying will take place at the Cenotaph.

President of the Robertson Memorial Ranch #17, Scott Schall, said he feels the support from Medicine Hat.

“As a veteran, I feel that people are there to remember. I am here to do just what they’re doing. It’s just that I was exposed to it,” Schall said.

“So when I see regular old citizens doing this and remembering alongside me, it makes it all worthwhile that my service is not in vain,” he added.

“I can come back to the greatest country in the world and what I think is the greatest city in the world, and I am supported and I am helped by those people to remember.”

The City of Medicine Hat will have the service live-streamed on YouTube starting at 9:25 a.m. on its website.
