The Medicine Hat Public Library provides a wide variety of things to do beyond finding books to read.

Here are the top five things to do at the Medicine Hat Public Library in November 2025.

Self-Publishing 101 With Olivia M. Geib, Nov. 6, 6 p.m.

Ever considered self-publishing? Don’t know where to start? Join Olivia M. Geib, an independent author of two novels — “The Daughter of Fire & Fury” and “The Princess of Secrets & Shadows” — to learn about the steps to self-publishing, if it’s the right option for you and the nitty-gritty details of all she’s learned in the industry. TIC TAC Presents: Crafts & Controllers (Nov. 7) and Carnival Night (Nov. 21), 6:45 p.m., Ages 13-19

At Crafts & Controllers we have Switch 2, XBOX and PS5 for gaming, you can make your own Dragon Puppet or felt Ugly Doll, or belt out karaoke. Carnival Night will have classic carnival games like ring toss and rubber duck fishing, plus we’ll play life-size Hungry, Hungry Hippos and Battleship. Doors open 6:45-7:15 only, then locked for your safety.

Home Routes Concert Series: Graham Lindsey & Maddy O’Regan, Nov. 26, 7 p.m.

Graham Lindsey & Maddy O’Regan are more than just a fiddle-and-guitar duo – they add another instrument or two and voice, and blend traditional tunes with playful energy and a good dose of back-and-forth banter. Their shows are filled with toe-tapping tunes and a few laughs and you’ll find that the energy spills over into the audience.

Tween Night: Lego, Nov. 27, 6 p.m., Ages 10-12

We’ll provide the bricks, you bring the creativity! Come hang out with friends, enjoy some snacks and build anything your imagination can dream up. Register at mhpl.info/register.

Dino Safari, Nov. 29, 2 p.m. , Ages 4-6

We start with a live and interactive online program hosted by the Royal Tyrrell Museum. Meet the dinosaurs in the Museum’s world-famous Dinosaur Hall, learn about the different types of dinosaurs found in Alberta and see some real fossils. Then we’ll have a tyranno-rific craft and a dino dig. Register at mhpl.info/register.
