Hamilton voted back in as Cypress County Reeve

Dan Hamilton will serve another four years as the Reeve of Cypress County.

He was voted into the position unanimously by the other eight councillors during the County’s organizational meeting on Monday.

Hamilton has held the position since 2018.

He was elected as the Ward 5 councillor last week, for his fourth term.

Hamilton told CHAT News last week that he is very proud to serve Ward 5 and to be elected again.

“I try my hardest to listen to everybody and bring everybody’s concerns to the front, and I try to do the best I can for not just my ward, but the whole county,” Hamilton said.

“There’s lots of stuff moving forward for the county, and I’m looking forward to being involved in it and part of it.”

The choice for Deputy Reeve was Ward 8 councillor Shane Hok.

The decisions followed all nine councillors taking their respective oaths.
