Video: A record-setting crowd attended an electrifying PBR Canada Cup Series Event in Medicine Hat

Medicine Hat has hosted the PBR Canada Cup Series’ Classic with a record-setting audience at Co-op Place.

Australian bull rider Callum Miller has won Saturday’s event, cracking the 13th spot in the race for the 2025 Canadian Championship.

Miller said this is his first time winning PBR in Medicine Hat while riding the biggest bull of his life, Black Mamba.

“It was a large animal. I mean, it’s all the same once they get out there and start bucking,” Miller said.

“It was going pretty good at the start, and then he got a little heavy and a little strong.”

“Things got a little wild, but we managed to get it done, so it worked out,” he added.

Saturday’s event had two rounds, with Miller posting the highest score in both rounds.

Miller had posted 86.5 points in the first round, outlasting Black Mamba and posted a victory-clinching 89 points for an event-best in the second round, ridding Get Rhythm.

Miller has lived in Canada in the past and loves PBR in the country.

“I came to a couple of events up here during the summer, so I used to do the PBR Canada’s all the time. And I really love them, and that’s why I keep coming back up,” Miller said.

“I think it’s just a great event here at Medicine Hat, and I love coming back up to Canada, and PBR Canada has always been good to me.”

The crowd in Medicine Hat has always been electric, according to Miller.

“They [Medicine Hat’s audience] put a lot of atmosphere into this building. It helps us riders,” Miller said.

“We want to do the best for fans that are loving it the best, and want to come here and see good rides.”

“So we just try and put on a good show for them and keep them happy because they’re the ones that are coming here to support us,” he added.

Jared Parsonage from Maple Creek came in second place, posting 83 points in the first round and 86 points in the second, taking the 3rd spot in the national standings.

From Eatonia, Sask. Dakota Buttar, despite placing 15th in Medicine Hat, is leading the national standings.

Buttar posted 74.5 points in the first round and didn’t score in the second round.

The next PBR Canada Cup event takes place in Saskatoon on Oct. 24, at 7:00 p.m.
