Four Medicine Hat individuals charged after vehicle thefts in southwest Saskatchewan

The Leader RCMP have charged four individuals from Medicine Hat in relation to multiple vehicle thefts, all believed to be connected, in October.

Mounties received a report of a vehicle theft overnight from a business in Leader, SK, on Oct. 5.

Following the investigation, the vehicle was located in the Kindersley RCMP Detachment area.

Vehicles were then recovered by the Leader RCMP in its area on Oct. 9, 10 and 12, all reported as stolen from the Kindersley detachment area.

As a result of continued investigation the Leader RCMP arrested four individuals – two on Oct. 10 in Liebenthal, just north of Leader, and two on Oct. 12 in Leader.

Two women aged 31-years and 47-years, along with two men aged, 32-years and 40-years, all from Medicine Hat are charged with one count, possession of break-in instruments.

The 40-year-old man also faces charges that include:

  • One count, theft under $5000
  • Two additional counts, theft of a motor vehicle
  • One count, break entering and committing
  • One count, possession of ammunition while prohibited
  • One count, break and enter with intent
  • One count, theft of a motor vehicle

He is scheduled to appear in Swift Current Provincial Court on Oct. 22.

The 47-year-old woman also faces one count of break and entering with intent, and one count possession of property obtained by crime.

She is scheduled to appear in court in Leader on Nov. 20.

The 31-year-old woman also faces additional charges with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle.

She appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court on Oct. 14.

The 32-year-old man is additionally charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Leader on Nov. 20.
