Medicine Hat transit to offer free rides on election day

The City of Medicine Hat announced on Friday that electors will be able to ride the bus to the polls for free on election day, Monday, October 20.

“The City is pleased to offer free transit services to all residents on election day”, said returning officer for the City, Tarolyn Aaserud.

“This initiative ensures everyone has an easy and affordable way to access polling stations.”

Electors can choose to cast their vote at any one of ten polling locations throughout the city on Monday.

Voting stations are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The City says all voting stations are fully accessible.

All transit buses and stop locations are fully accessible and are able to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers, according to the City.

Free special transit service will also be offered to all users currently registered.
