Two residents of Taber have learned their fates.

The Taber Police Service (TPS) says two people have been sentenced after it arrested five people on October 17, 2024.

Officers executed a search warrant at a home on the 5900 block of 64 Ave in Taber nearly one year ago.

TPS says it seized over 230 grams of methamphetamine, 19 grams of powder cocaine, 10 grams of crack cocaine, over $2,000 in cash and assorted drug paraphernalia. Officers also found a flashlight stun gun and a loaded prohibited gun.

According to police, the street value of the drugs and cash is over $15,000.

Kade Leslie Phillips, 25, of Taber, received a global sentence this week of 1,460 days, or four years, on three counts of possession of a controlled substance, as well as one count each of possessing a prohibited weapon and breaching a release order. Phillips also has firearms prohibition.

Jonathan Milton Janes, 32, of Taber, was sentenced back on May 30, 2025. He is serving a two-year conditional sentence order and a three-year probation order for charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a prohibited firearm.

Charges against the three others who were arrested last fall were withdrawn.
