Members of AUPE set to rally at Medicine Hat provincial building

Aug 27, 2025 | 8:11 AM

Alberta’s provincial employees are organizing a rally in front of Medicine Hat’s provincial building in downtown Medicine Hat over the noon hour Wednesday.

They are demanding a fair collective agreement with only two meetings left in the final phase of enhanced mediation with the province.

Once the mediator’s recommendations are complete, Alberta Union of Provincial Employee members will vote to ratify a tentative agreement or go on strike within the first week of September.

AUPE representing some 23,000 front line government workers have been in bargaining now for over a year and a half with the province.
