Medicine Hat athletes have wrapped up competition at Canada Summer Games

Medicine Hat area athletes have wrapped up competition at the Canada Summer Games in St. John’s N.L.

Medicine Hat’s Tristan Friesen finished 4th in the shot put event on Tuesday with a throw of 15.12 metres.

Dunmore’s Sarah Pimblett finished 14th in the qualifying round for high jump on Wednesday, missing out of the final Friday.

Team Alberta men’s baseball had Cypress County’s Kane Bishop and Medicine Hat’s Matthew Getz on the team.

They finished in 5th place at the tournament with a 4-0 win over Manitoba last Friday.

It was a golden finish for a Brooks athlete, as Athian Madut and Team Alberta men’s basketball earned top spot with a 72-69 win in the championship game last Saturday.

The game are running over 18 days from Aug. 8-25, 2025.
