Brooks RCMP confirm identity of deceased person found in alley, investigation continues

Brooks RCMP began an investigation into found human remains in an alley near Southshore Drive in Brooks after receiving a report about this at about 6:05 p.m. on Aug. 20, 2025.

The deceased has been identified as a missing Brooks woman, 20-year-old Fatima Ahmed.

Ahmed was last seen on Aug. 15, 2025, with police putting out a missing person report a few days after.

Mounties offered their condolences to family and friends of the deceased.

An autopsy was completed Friday at the office of the chief medical examiner and the cause of death is pending.
