Medicine Hat Mavericks name Reed head coach for 2026

The Medicine Hat Mavericks have named Ryan Reed as their head coach for 2026 Western Canadian Baseball League season.

Reed was an assistant coach on Jonathan Thornhill’s staff for the Mavs during the 2025 season.

A release from the Mavs stated that Reed has proved himself as a leader within the organization with a full season of WCBL experience under his belt, developing a strong understanding of the league’s competitive landscape and is well-prepared to guide the Mavericks toward a championship run.

Reed is was a graduate assistant coach with Mid-America Christian University as part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. A job he has held since 2023.

When hired as an assistant Reid had offered a statement.

Reed had a two-year playing career with the Evangels prior to joining the coaching ranks with the team.
