Strong police presence in Medicine Hat near Kingsway Ave on Sunday

There was a strong police presence Sunday afternoon near the Kingsway Avenue area of Medicine Hat.

Several police vehicles were onsite at the scene that included the armored vehicle, with reports of guns being drawn.

Medicine Hat Police Service had a call for service listed on their website for an assault with a weapon early Sunday at a location in the same area.

An incident took place on the 800 block of 9th Street Southeast with a call for service listed at approximately 1:16 a.m.
