Jul 30, 2025 | 12:12 PM

Leader RCMP received a report of a robbery at a business in Lancer, Sask., on July 28 at approximately 10:45 a.m.

Mounties investigation determined that an unknown female attended the business and demanded a sum of cash from an employee inside.

Police said she told the employee she had a weapon, before the female stole a sum of money and left the business on foot.

RCMP located and arrested the female suspect outside a residence in Lancer.

The stolen money was recovered by police, who said further investigation determined the female did not have a weapon at the time of the robbery.

A 53-year-old Lancer woman is charged with one count of robbery — threats of a firearm, and one count of theft over $5,000.

The suspect appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court on July 29.

Leader RCMP were assisted in the investigation by the Maple Creek, and Swift Current detachments, along with Saskatchewan RCMP police dog services and roving traffic unit.

Lancer is located 48 km southeast of Leader.
