Medicine Hat Jr. Mavs remain undefeated at Little League Intermediate Canadian Championships

The Medicine Hat Jr. Mavs remain undefeated at Little League Intermediate Canadian Championships after another decisive win Thursday morning.

Representing Little League Alberta, the Mavs competed a 10-0 victory over Team Atlantic.

The game ending early in the fifth inning for the second day in a row, as the max run differential was reach by the Mavs in the bottom of the inning.

Burke Morrison drove in Raylan Johnson with a double in the first inning to get things going for the Jr. Mavs.

Morrison would late score, on a sacrifice fly by Beckam Sprunger with the bases loaded to increase the lead to 2-0 in the first.

The Jr. Mavs offense would get going again in the third inning, as Madden Ellis who was put out at first drove in Reid Pluta from third to increase the lead to 3-0.

The next batter Morrison would do the same, driving in Johnson for another RBI to extend the lead to 4-0 for the Jr. Mavs.

Later in the inning Diesel Bishop would send a hard hit the third baseman couldn’t handle for an RBI single to give the Jr. Mavs a 5-0 lead with Blake Harrison coming in to score.

In the fourth inning, Jonathan Gazdag hit an RBI double driving in Archer Cunningham to make it 6-0.

The fifth inning had Harrison hit a shot down the left field line for a double and a pair of RBIs as Johnson and Ellis came into to extend the score to 8-0.

With two outs and Bishop up to bat, a high hit ball was dropped by the third baseman as Harrison came around to score to make it 9-0 Jr. Mavs.

Ending the game was a balk called on the Team Atlantic pitcher, as Morrison came home to complete the 10-0 victory.

Ellis, Morrison and Jack Harris combined for the shutout on the mound for the Jr. Mavs.

Little League Alberta extends their record to 2-0 back in action on Friday at noon against Little League Ontario.
