MINIMUM WAGE

Saskatchewan minimum wage going up, Alberta left at bottom

Jul 10, 2025 | 2:17 PM

The Saskatchewan government says minimum wage workers will get a 35 cent per hour raise this fall.

Officials say minimum wage will be $15.35 per hour starting on Oct. 1.

Labour Relations Minister Jim Reiter said the increase will have benefits for employees and notes the province also wants to create a balance for employers.

He said meetings will be held over the next few months with key stakeholders to “understand the implications” of the raise.

When implemented, the raise will leave Alberta as the lowest minimum wage in the country at $15 per hour.

The minimum wage in Alberta hasn’t changed since 2018.
