Residents of Taber should not be alarmed if they see armed police officers near W.R. Meyers High School.
The Taber Police Service says its members, along with “multiple police agencies,” are undergoing a series of training exercises.
It will take place July 8-11 and July 14-15 with signs posted on 54th Street near the school.
“Some of the scenarios will involve police outside the school with weapons drawn. We want to assure the public that this is training only!” reads a social media post from Taber Police Service.
