Jul 9, 2025 | 8:45 PM

Medicine Hat’s Jesse Florkowsk finished top in his category after his final round at the 2025 United States Golf Association Adaptive Open at Rockville, MD.

The one armed golfer earned top spot in the Upper Limb Impairment division, beating out fellow Canadian Chris Willis by seven strokes.

Florkowski combined for a score of one under par over the three days. He saved his best round for Wednesday shooting a three under par 69.

Florkowski said his putting was a lot better during the third round.

“Made a clutch bogey save on hole one which settled the nerves a bit. I knew I needed a good round to catch the first place guy in the division and [to beat] the guys chasing me,” Florkowski said.

“Hit the ball solid all day and played the last three holes at two under par to win by quite a few shots.”

Competing against the top golfers with a disability from across the world. His seventh overall finish at the event, tops his previous best of ninth place set in 2022.

Florkowski said the experience was unbelievable and hard to put into words.

“The first two years of the event were in Pinehurst, and this year Woodmount Country Club and the USGA blew it out of the water,” Florkowski said.

“The hospitality was top notch and we all look forward to next years event.”

Florkowski said he is thankful for the USGA, Deloitte and AASRA for the ongoing support of the championship.

“The event gets bigger every year and adaptive golf is trending to new heights.”

An alumni of the Medicine Hat College Rattlers golf team, Florkowski will be part of the opening ceremonies during the 2025 Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Golf Championship at Desert Blume Golf Club from Oct. 13-17.
