Grady Young, a 19 year-old from Leader, Sask. is the top bull rider so far at the Calgary Stampede through four days of bull riding at the rodeo.

Young rode Splash Tide for eight seconds to earn a score of 91 and brought home $7,200 on Monday.

Young is set to ride Shake It Off today as Group B of the event continues Tuesday and Wednesday.

There are several competitors for the area surrounding Medicine Hat competing at the Calgary Stampede.

Competing alongside Young in Group B of the bull riding is William Barrows of Foremost.

He stayed out of the money on Monday after being bucked off by Tactical Error.

Barrows will get a chance at redemption today when he rides Forest Gump.

Pool A of the bull riding had Maple Creek’s Jared Parsonage competing Friday through Sunday.

Parsonage scored a 81 on Rahan on Friday to take home a $4,000 payout, but was bucked off Saturday and Sunday.

He placed 6th in the Pool A standings.

The ladies barrel racing event has Lynette Brodoway of Brooks competing.

She placed 9th on Monday in her first of three rides in Pool B.

Her time of 17.95 seconds didn’t get her any cash, but there will be two more opportunities Tuesday and Wednesday.
