Jul 2, 2025 | 10:43 AM

The Medicine Hat Tigers drafted forward Yaroslav Bryzgalov with the 60th pick in the Canadian Hockey League Import Draft Wednesday morning.

The 2007-born Bryzgalov from Minsk, Belarus played for the Des Moines Buccaneeers of the United States Hockey League last season.

The 6-foot-3 centreman who weighs 205 pounds had 17 points with 10 goals in 51 USHL games in 2024-25.

His first season in North America after previously playing in Belarus.

He is committed to the NCAA‘s Merrimack College Warriors for the 2026-27 season, where he could join former Brooks Bandits defenceman Ethan Beyer and forward Jack Good who are committed there for 2025-26.

Going into the draft the Tigers held picks 60, 121 and 182, which was expanded to three rounds for 2025, as teams are now allowed a third import on their roster starting this fall.

The Tigers have a pair of import defencemen expected to return for the 2025-26 WHL season in Niilopekka Muhonen and Veeti Vaisanen, which is why they passed on picks 121 and 182.

Both players from Finland were selected by the Tigers in the 2024 CHL Import Draft.

Muhonen signed a three year entry level NHL deal with the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.
