Medicine Hat Tigers host American opponents as WHL releases full schedule

The Western Hockey League released it’s full schedule for the 2025-26 season today.

The 68-regular season game season will start Sept. 19 and wrap up March 22.

The Ed Chynoweth Cup winning Medicine Hat Tigers open their regular season Saturday, September 20 hosting the Regina Pats at Co-op Place.

Nearly 80 per cent of the leagues schedule will be played on the weekend or holidays.

Playoffs will begin March 27, with the WHL championship series set for May 8- 18.

The Memorial Cup will be hosted in Kelowna May 22-31.

The Tigers will host a family day game on February 16 against the Red Deer Rebels at 2 p.m..

There will be no regular season trips to the United States for the Tigers this year.

With each of the six US Division teams making their biannual trip to the Central Division.

Ryan Miller will get to play in his hometown of Medicine Hat against the Tigers when the Portland Winterhawks come to the city on Saturday, Oct. 11 as the first American opponent of the season.

The Spokane Chiefs make the stop in Medicine Hat on Tuesday, Oct. 14 after last playing the Tigers in the WHL finals.

The Tigers will start the biannual British Columbia road trip after those two games with stops in Victoria, Vancouver, Prince George, Kamloops, Kelowna and the league’s newest team in Penticton from Oct. 18-27.

The Tigers next american opponent is Oyen’s Grady Martin and the Tri-City Americans in the city on Sunday, Nov. 2.

If he remains in Wenatchee for his 20-year old season Medicine Hat’s Dawson Seitz and the Wild will make their way to city to face the Tigers on Saturday, Dec. 6.

The Seattle Thunderbirds make their way to Medicine Hat for a Friday, Jan. 9 contest.

2024-25 WHL Rookie of the Year Landon Dupont and the Everett Silertips owned by Medicine Hat’s Bill Yuill are the last American team to make a stop in Medicine Hat on Saturday, Feb. 14 for Valentine’s Day game.

The Regular Season will wrap up with a home and home series against the Red Deer Rebels Friday, March 20 in Red Deer and Saturday, March 21 in Medicine Hat.

The Tigers 34 home games during the season includes:

  • Seventeen – Saturday games at 7 p.m.
  • Six – Friday games at 7 p.m.
  • Four – Wednesday games at 7 p.m.
  • Four – Tuesday games at 7 p.m.
  • Two – Sunday games at 4 p.m.
  • One – holiday Monday game at 2 p.m.
