Air quality risk set at very high for Medicine Hat area
An air quality warning has been issued by Environment Canada early Wednesday morning for the Medicine Hat area due to the return of smoke from western wildfires.
The air quality health index has been set at a very high 10+ level, with the risk expected to drop to a high risk 8 by Wednesday evening, then down to a moderate 4 risk for Thursday.
The air quality health index throughout Southern Alberta showed the same risk for Brooks and Lethbridge.
Along with poor air quality, reduced visibility is expected due to the smoke, but can fluctuate according to Environment Canada.
