Downtown shooting a ‘targeted incident’: Medicine Hat police

A shooting at a downtown Medicine Hat apartment building early on Saturday appears to have been a “targeted incident,” police say.

Officers arrived at the Mayfair Manor high rise at 407 Fifth Ave. S.E. to find a male victim with multiple injuries in the parking lot of the complex.

He was treated at the Medicine Hat Regional hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

There’s no known risk to public safety, the Medicine Hat Police Service said Monday.

The Medicine Hat Police Service says further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
