Tigers aim to take 3-1 series lead in WHL Finals

May 14, 2025 | 2:20 PM

The Medicine Hat Tigers lead the WHL Finals 2-1 following a shutout victory Tuesday night over the Spokane Chiefs.

It was just the second time the Chiefs have been held off the scoresheet all season, a great bounceback for Medicine Hat following a 6-2 Game 2 defeat.

The Cats were aided by six goals from six different goal scorers, while scoring twice in each frame.

The Chiefs have shown an innate ability to bounce back following a loss this year, boasting an impressive 21-3-1 record following a defeat.

Tigers 20-year-old netminder, Harrison Meneghin, will look to build off his third shutout performance of the playoffs after stopping all 28 shots directed his way in Game 3.

Returnees Cayden Lindstrom and Andrew Basha have been stellar in their return to the Tiger lineup, recording at least a point in each game this series.

The status of Tigers superstar forward Gavin McKenna remains unclear, after he was ruled out of Game 3 after warmups.

If McKenna can’t go, expect to see Marcus Pacheco draw into the lineup and Mathew Ward fill McKenna’s place on the top line.

Puck drop for Game 4 is set for 8 p.m. MST with the pre-game show beginning at 7:45 p.m. on WILD 94.5.
