Brooks Bandits bounce back with win over Vees

May 7, 2025 | 11:09 AM

The Brooks Bandits bounced back Wednesday night at home with a 6-3 win over the Penticton Vees after dropping Game 3 by a 6-0 score, also on home ice.

In the fourth game, the Bandits jumped out to a three goal lead by the end of the first period with goals from forwards Luke Bibby, Cooper Pierson and Parker Lalonde.

Half way through the second period forward Nick Peluso would score what would be the eventual game winner to put the Bandits up 4-0.

The Vees would score late in the second period to solve Bandits goaltender Zach Zahara for the first time in the contest.

In the third period the Vees would score a pair to close the gap to 4-3.

That would be as close as the Vees would get as the Bandits scored a pair of empty net goals to seal the victory in game four.

Forwards Nick Peluso and Parker Lalonde found the back of the net each for the second time of the night.

Zahara earned the win in net turning aside 25 shots.

The British Columbia Hockey League‘s Interior Conference finals now shifts to Penticton for game five with the Bandits up 3-1 and one win away from the league finals.

This is the Vees final season in the BCHL as Penticton has been awarded a Western Hockey League franchise retaining the Vees name.

An expansion draft will take place for the Vees Western Hockey League franchise on Wednesday, with the results posted to the WHL website at 2 p.m.

The Bandits will have the opportunity to end the Vees time in the BCHL Friday, with puck drop at 8 p.m. in Penticton.

If a Game 6 is required it would go Monday back at the Centennial Regional Arena in Brooks.
