The Liberal Party has declared a candidate for Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner.

Longtime Medicine Hat resident Tom Rooke has been announced as the Liberal option, according to the party website.

Rooke is a former trustee for Medicine Hat School District, where he served on the finance committee, the Education Foundation and the negotiating committee as chair.

Rooke recently wrote a letter to the editor saying Premier Danielle Smith is “not a Canadian” for her approach to the trade war.

The entry of Rooke into the race marks the final major party to declare a candidate.

He is up against incumbent Conservative MP Glen Motz, Andy Shadrack of the Greens, New Democrat Jocelyn Johnson and People’s Party of Canada Jordan Harris.
