Mar 31, 2025 | 4:30 PM

On Friday at approximately 1:20 a.m., a Taber Police Service officer reported hearing loud banging outside of the police station. A TPS Communications Operator observed a male, via CCTV, throwing rocks at the building.

The officer heard breaking glass from inside the office of the Chief of Police.

The TPS officer exited the police station and observed damage to two vehicles belonging to police station staff, as well as a large hole in the office window.

The officer encountered a male who attempted to run from the scene.

TPS said the male fled on foot but was apprehended by another officer in a police vehicle a short distance away.

The highly intoxicated 25 year old male from Barnwell, Alberta was arrested and is facing charges of Mischief Over $5000 X2 and Mischief Under $5000.

TBS said the male is scheduled to appear in Taber Court of Justice on May 6, 2025.

The male’s identity will not be released by TPS as the information is not yet sworn.
