Medicine Hat council, in closed session, to talk energy business and rec facilities

Medicine Hat city council is meeting for a closed session Monday evening.

The agenda shows the first item is an energy business matter, closed on advice from officials and to avoid disclosure that could be harmful to economic and other interests of the city.

Council will also deliberate an item related to its strategic goal to develop a multi-faceted recreation complex in Medicine Hat’s south end and determine the future of the city’s existing facilities.

It’s unclear if that conversation, made private based on advice from officials, will focus on one or both of the goals.

The meeting will get underway at 3:45 p.m. on Monday afternoon before it’s closed to the public.
