Medicine Hat’s Ayomanor expected to be picked early in NFL Draft

Medicine Hat is expected to have it’s first ever resident drafted into the National Football League in April.

Medicine Hat High School Hawks alumni and Stanford wide receiver Elic Ayomanor is projected to go in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft starting April 24.

The only other played from Medicine Hat to ever play in the NFL was offensive lineman Dan Federkeil, who won a Super Bowl with the Indianapolis Colts in 2007.

Ayomanor trained in a pro day earlier this week to show his game to the scouts, and is expected to be interviewed by a number of teams over the next week.

His mother, Pam Weiterman said it’s a little bit surreal and hard to believe.

“He has put in so much work. I mean he deserves to be where he’s at,” Weiterman said.

Weiterman sat down with CHAT News to speak about Elic leading up to the draft.
