
Loutitt leaps to bronze at final women’s World Cup ski jump stop
LAHTI — Canada’s Alex Loutitt won the bronze medal in the large hill competition at the final World Cup women’s ski jumping event of the season.
The 21-year-old from Calgary, who was ninth in qualifying, reached her third podium of the season with a combined distance of 275.1 metres over her two jumps.
Nika Prevc of Slovenia finished comfortably in first with a total of 302.8 metres. Selina Freitag of Germany took silver with 277.4 metres.
Loutitt won the large hill event at a World Cup stop in Sapporo, Japan, in January and finished third in the event last month at Lake Placid, N.Y.
