What need has your organization addressed in the community due to South Country Co-op Limited support? We have been hosting this weekend of barrel racing for the past 17 years. It allows riders of all ages and skill levels to compete and have fun with their equine athlete partners. There are not many sports that 3 generations of riders can come together to compete, with and against each other and hopefully win some of the cash and prizes that have been donated. We have different age categories with the little ones as young as 3 years old competing in the PeeWee category as well as Youth, Open and the Seniors. It is a fun filled 3 days spent barrel racing, hanging out with our horses and friends and family. It is open to the public to come watch at no charge. To round out the weekend we have a potluck supper with entertainment on Saturday night with all donations going to Halo Air Ambulance. Please describe the support received from South Country Co-op Limited and the impact it has made The cash and the product for prizes allows the competitors to win some amazing prizes and payouts. What support is still needed and how can people learn more or get involved? Volunteers are always appreciated

What need has your organization addressed in the community due to South Country Co-op Limited support? We'll be able to improve the learning environment for students at a local rural school through the purchase of classroom resources, gym/sporting equipment, and offer exciting field trips to expand their learning outside of the classroom. Please describe the support received from South Country Co-op Limited and the impact it has made The donation of 2 gift baskets for our auction gave us an opportunity to raise more funds which will help improve the learning experience for children at our local rural school. It is a smaller school this year and we see a lot of children who come from low income or single income families. These donations and in turn, money raised, allows those kids to experience activities and events that they might otherwise not get too. IE - A sleep over at Royal Tyrell Museum for our older grades, or being able to go to local sites to learn more about our local history.

What need has your organization addressed in the community due to South Country Co-op Limited support? The Co-op has provided us buns for our annual Back to school BBQ so that we could provide a free supper for all new and returning families to come together as a community. Please describe the support received from South Country Co-op Limited and the impact it has made Helping families meet and feel welcome in the community and school through donations so we could host a community event. What support is still needed and how can people learn more or get involved? Continuation of food donations annually would be very appreciated.
