Brooks RCMP arrest man with multiple outstanding warrants

Brooks RCMP were called to assist city peace officers at a traffic stop in Brooks just after 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.

During the stop, officers identified a man who was found to have multiple outstanding warrants from various jurisdictions, including fraud, theft and assault.

A search of the vehicle revealed open alcohol containers and a small quantity of methamphetamine.

The individual was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance as well as additional provincial offences.

He was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody until his court appearance on Monday.
