Medicine Hat Tigers acquire World Juniors’ player Molendyk
In a late night blockbuster, the Medicine Hat Tigers have acquired defenceman Tanner Molendyk (‘05) and forward Misha Volotovski (‘05) from the Saskatoon Blades.
Molendyk, who went 24th overall to Nashville in the 2024 NHL draft, was just away in Ottawa along with now-teammate Gavin McKenna representing Team Canada at the World Juniors, where he was named one of the Top 3 Skaters for the Canadians.
Volotovski, a Calgary Native, is in 4th WHL season and will provide some depth at the forward line for the Tigers who have been riddled all year with injury. So far this season, Volotovski has recorded 4 goals, and 7 assists through 37 games.
Heading the other way, the Tigers send Saskatoon D Jack Kachkowski (‘07), and F Hayden Harsanyi (‘07), along with five draft picks, only one of which is a 1st rounder.
