It’s the final weekend of 2024 — we’ve made it!

Here is what’s on in Medicine Hat and area this weekend.

Tigers x Paw Patrol

It’s a team up for the ages.

The Medicine Hat Tigers will be raising money for the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation at its Paw Patrol-themed night on Saturday.

RE/MAX Presents: Nickelodeon Nights for Children’s Miracle Network gets underway at Co-op Place when the Tigers take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m.

Tune in live on Wild 94.5 radio with voice of the Tigers Will Bryant.

Meanwhile, Tigers star forward Gavin McKenna is having a strong start to the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.

Winter Classic Tennis at Big Marble Go Centre

The Medicine Hat Tennis Club is hosting their annual Winter Classic on Saturday at the Big Marble Go Centre.

Twenty four players will participate in the doubles tournament.

The intermediate division plays from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the open division from 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Spectators are welcome.

Final Inspire Cafe garage sale

A final Odds and Ends Garage Sale is taking place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Inspire Studio, Gallery and Café is closing.

There will be cups, glasses, dishes, kitchen equipment and more for its last garage sale, according to an event page.

Brooks gets down to business

The Brooks Small Business Retreat is taking place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Tickets to the retreat, hosted by Cassandra Socchia Studio, are available for $60 online.

Brooks Bandits at home

The Brooks Bandits host the West Kelowna Warriors at Centeninial Regional Arena Saturday night at 7 p.m.

It will be West Kelowna only trip to Brooks this BCHL season.

Skating with the Grinch in Elkwater

The Grinch will be skating at the Outdoor Skating Rink in Elkwater on Saturday from 4-5 p.m.

Rumour is he might even play a little hockey.

The Elkwater Community Association will be collecting donations for the maintenance of the facility for those looking to take a photo with the Grinch.

Up next: New Year’s Eve

While not part of the weekend, there’s a lot going on in Medicine Hat on New Year’s Eve.

There will be a buffet, DJ and dancing at an event by Rosewood Bistro. Big Marble Go Centre is hosting a family-friendly event from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. with swimming and Nerf Battles. And there’s so much more.
