Dec 20, 2024 | 5:13 PM

A chance to view cattle and check out a number of vendors, both agriculture related and not is taking place in the Cypress Centre at the Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede Grounds.

The 26th annual Beef Pen Show and Cowboy Christmas Trade Show kicked off Friday afternoon, with no cost to enter the doors.

Committee member Troy Sauter said everybody that attends treats this as a cowboy Christmas and looks forward to it every year.

He added there are people from all over Western Canada, making it one of the best cattle shows in the country.

“There’s over 400 head of cattle, there’s 70 exhibitors throughout the buildings,” Sauter said.

“Between trade show and purebred breeders, commercial breeders, we bring them all together. There’ll be 4-H tomorrow morning and so it just brings the whole family together and puts it for everything, so it’s fantastic.”
