Medicine Hat weather warnings lifted, snowfall to the east

Environment Canada has lifted the freezing rain warning for Medicine Hat and Redcliff that was in place for much of Wednesday.

However, areas immediately to Medicine Hat’s north, south and east remain under a snowfall warning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may have become icy and slippery, according to an earlier alert from the national weather agency.

Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
