Several Medicine Hat motorists lose driving privileges for impaired driving

Police said 875 vehicles were stopped in two check-stop campaigns by the Medicine Hat Police Service on Friday and Saturday.

Four Immediate Roadside Sanctions were issued, as well as two traffic safety act tickets.

As well, another driver received an Immediate Roadside Sanction for impaired driving as a result of a two vehicle crash Friday night at Fourth Avenue and 11th Street Southeast.

One of the vehicles was propelled into a residence at that location minor injuries for both drivers.

Check stops will continue throughout the holiday season and city police advise drivers to play for a safe ride home from holiday celebrations.

They stress there are many options and on excuses for driving impaired.

People are urged to call 911 if they suspect an impaired driver.
