STARS encouraging online donations during Canada Post strike

Dec 10, 2024 | 5:07 PM

Amidst a Canada Post strike that’s approaching the four-week mark, STARS asks those hoping to make a donation this season to consider an in-person or online contribution.

In a usual December, the organization says more than 65 per cent of its donations would arrive by mail.

“Due to the Canada Post strike, your timely support is more crucial than ever. By donating online, over the phone or in person, you ensure that your generous contribution reaches us without delay, helping us continue our vital work during the holiday season,” said Katherine Emberly, president and CEO, STARS. “Delivering critical care, anywhere is not possible without the support of our community donors, and we sincerely appreciate everyone’s willingness to be flexible with their donation methods. Our team is here to support and will help guide you through the process to ensure your donation reaches us without interruption.”

Donations can be made online here, or over the phone at the toll-free number 1-855-516-4848 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. MT.

Those wishing to donate in person can visit any STARS base in Calgary, Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Saskatoon, Regina, or Winnipeg from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Addresses are available here.

For questions about any donation method, please contact the STARS Foundation team at 1-855-516-4848 or email donations@stars.ca.
