Here is what’s on in Medicine Hat and area this weekend: Nov. 29-Dec. 1

The Christmas markets are continuing as we get closer to the holidays.

The chilly weather is sticking around. The high on Friday will be -15 C, Saturday will peak at -13 C and Sunday will bring -15 C.

Here is what’s on in Medicine Hat and area this weekend:

🏷 Heritage Christmas Market

The Heritage Christmas Market at Medalta is taking place Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Auqa Aura Creations, Daniel Doyle Pottery, Silver Soul Creations Jewelry and dozens of other vendors will be available.

There will also be live festive music, holiday eats from Grit City Distillery and family fun for all ages, according to an event page.

🛍 Annual Christmas market

Medicine Hat’s annual Christmas Market is taking place at Police Point Park from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.

There will be 10 local vendors and crafters who recycle, up-cycle and make products from natural materials.

Entry to the market is free.

🐅 Tigers in action

The Medicine Hat Tigers have two home games this weekend.

The No. 2 ranked Tigers take on Eastern Conference rivals No. 5 ranked Brandon Wheat Kings at 7 p.m. Friday at Co-op Place.

They take on the Calgary Hitmen at home on Saturday.

Tune into Wild 94.5 radio for live coverage of both games with voice of the Tigers Will Bryant.

🎄 Redcliff tree lighting

Redcliff’s annual Christmas tree lighting and winter celebration is taking place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday.

Attendees can enjoy a steaming cup of hot chocolate in the park, engage with Santa and Mrs. Claus, take a holiday hay ride tour and bask in the warmth of a crackling fire while roasting a s’more or relishing a hot dog.

They can also shop local businesses during Moonlight Madness for Black Friday deals and peruse the Christmas Market inside Parkside Junior Highschool Gymnasium.

🛒 Midnight Madness

The Medicine Hat Mall is hosting Midnight Madness from 6 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Friday.

Every $25 spent at the mall will earn participants an extra ballet.

There’s a first draw at 6:30 p.m.

Participants must remain onsite to claim their prize and will only have 10 minutes to do so.
