Medicine Hat’s Salvation Army kicks off annual Kettle Campaign

Nov 17, 2024 | 12:56 AM

Medicine Hat Salvation Army’s Kettle Campaign — one of the most recognizable charity efforts — has begun.

The charity effort collects money to feed and get toys for vulnerable families during the holidays.

“Funds raised through donations made at Christmas kettles, together with other sources of funds, help provide direct, compassionate, hands-on service to over 1.9 million people each year in Canada,” the Salvation Army says.

It aims to restore “hope and dignity to those who might otherwise remain invisible in society.”

Over a dozen kettles are set up each year across Medicine Hat at grocery stores and other public areas. Many of them also include tap for debit and credit cards.

The Kettle Campaign cones together because of volunteers every year. Those interested in volunteering can do so by contacting The Salvation Army Medicine Hat.
