Two Medicine Hat men charged after break in at local business

A pair of men have been charged with break and enter, and theft exceeding $5,000 after a Medicine Hat Police Service investigation.

The result of a break and enter to a commercial business on the 700 block of 20th Street Northeast, responded to by MHPS on Aug. 29.

Investigators determined that two individuals had unlawfully entered the business, stealing a significant amount of cash and various products.

During the investigation it was also discovered that the incident was orchestrated with the assistance of a former employee who possessed detailed knowledge of the business’s operations and security measures.

The investigation is ongoing with the 33-year old and 35-year old Medicine Hat men charged.

A warrant has also been issues for the arrest of a 22-year old woman from Swift Current, Sask.

Police said additional charges may result from the investigation.
