The Medicine Hat Tigers have made a trade with the Kelowna Rockets to help with their forward depth and stock up on draft picks.

Defenseman Nate Corbet born in 2006 was sent to the Rockets for forward Ethan Neutens born in 2005, a 2025 third-round pick, and a 2028 fifth-round pick.

Corbet was a third round pick of the Tigers in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.

A member of the Tigers since the 2023-24 season, Corbet has registered 10 points in 71 games to go with 121 penalty minutes, offering a physical presence to the Tigers roster.

This season Corbet has five points over 20 games and 49 penalty minutes.

Nuetens, from Cochrane, Alta., has two points over 12 games this season with the Rockets.

The six-foot-four, 205 pound forward had been a member of the Rockets since 2022-23 putting up 25 points and 79 penalty minutes over 135 WHL games.

He was a ninth-round pick of the Rockets in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.

Willie Desjardins, general manager and head coach said they would like to thank Corbet for his time with the Tigers organization.

“We appreciate his hard work and dedication to our team, we wish Nate and his family the best,” Desjardins said.
