Electric scooters are removed from Medicine Hat streets for winter season

Friday marked the end of the season for Medicine Hat’s electric rental scooters and bicycles.

In a post to social media announcing they are being removed from streets ahead of winter, the City of Medicine Hat said Hatters rode 63,000 kilometres on the scooters and bikes.

That’s just below an average of one kilometre per resident of Medicine Hat and is 1.5 times around the planet.

The city confirmed Bird, the company that operates the mobility service, will return in April 2025, weather permitting.

The Bird app used to locate the electric scooters and bikes can be downloaded from the App Store and the Play Store.
