The Medicine Hat Tigers are back to having more wins than losses so far this season.

The Tigers, ranked No. 1 nationally, have struggled with finding consistency as it faced early injuries and some minor roster changes.

But they were able to find a win over a divisional rival on Wednesday.

The Calgary Hitmen got things started with a goal midway through the first period at Co-op Place.

Gavin McKenna answered back later in Period 1 with a pair of back-to-back goals within a four-minute span.

The Hitmen fired back in the second frame with a goal to tie it up at 2-2.

Hunter St. Martin would give the Tigers the lead again in the third period.

Less than a minute later, Bryce Pickford made it a 4-2 game for the Tigers.

The Hitmen were unable to respond and the Tigers notched a home-field win.

The Tigers play the Rebels in Red Deer on Friday night.

On Saturday, they are back at Co-op Place to take on the Regina Pats.
